Urban Decay Naked 2

The other day I had a splurge and bought a palette I had been eyeing up for months. Now, I know I am very late on the bandwagon with this one but I am glad that I finally decided to buy it.
This palette contains 12 taupe-based eye shadows that are a mixture of shimmer and matte, light and dark, the palette comes with a double-sided brush, which, I personally hate. I mean, it is a really dense brush that picks up a lot of product and leaves a lot of excess powder on the eye shadow. I also thought that one end would pack on the colour and one would blend but this brush did not do either.

The palette came with 4 samples of their eye shadow primers that promise to each have one weeks worth of product inside. I have not yet tried them but when I have I will give you an update and comparisons.

The eye shadows are a creamy or buttery consistency that are rather easy to blend and build up the intensity. As they are all taupe-based they really suit my blue/green eyes as the two colours clash, although I'm sure they would look nice on all coloured eyes.
The shimmery ones aren't glittery, which I love, and the matte ones aren't chalky, which I also love. They are just all such great colours for casual days or to dress up with.

Do I think it's worth £37? In all honesty I would prefer it to be cheaper because you know it's £37. At first I was debating whether to get this or the Stila In The Light Palette but thinking about the quality I am glad I bought this one.

Brand Focus || Maybelline

Maybelline is one of my favourite brands, it is of a high quality but is cheap and cheerful. To me Maybelline is as good as high-end brands such as Benefit or Mac, but is half the price! In the UK Maybelline can be found in Boots, Superdrug or in selected pharmacies, they also stock globally I believe. I have selected my favourites from the brand to show you.

The Rocket Volum' Express Waterproof Mascara - This mascara is only £7.99 and is great on natural days or to layer up for a night out, very versatile! It really grips my lashes, lengthens them and adds some volume at the roots. Also, when it says waterproof it means it, this will not come off for anything! I admit a little annoying but it is great for sweatproof and waterproof makeup for the summer.

Baby Lips in Pink Punch, Cherry Me and Intense Care - These are my favourite lip balms, I personally think they're better than Nivea, Burt's Bees and even the infamous Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream. They nourish my lips and the tinted ones leave a glossy colour that stays on for hours. My favourite is the Intense Care (mentioned here) but I do, obviously, love the others. For only £2.99 they are great products.

24hr Colour Tattoo in Permanent Taupe - As an eye shadow base this product keeps they eye shadow on for hours, doesn't crease and doesn't fade; as an eye shadow on its own it is very pigmented and still stays on all day, doesn't fade or crease. I have it in a beautiful matte taupe (greyish-brown) colour but am considering buying a few more shades. This product is £4.99 and is highly comparable to the Mac Paint Pots. Great!

Color Whisper in Coral Ambition - I was kindly gifted this product from Kelly as it is currently only available in America, how annoying! But I do adore it, it is a beautiful sheer and creamy texture like the Revlon Lip Butters but is a lot more pigmented. It stays on for quite a long time, it feels very nourishing and has a beautiful glossy finish.

Empty Products #1

I've been collecting a little stash of products that I have completely used up. Sounds bizarre, I know, but it would be helpful to you because you would know my honest opinion as I have had to use the whole thing up!

Batiste Dry Shampoo - This is just your bog-standard dry shampoo, I always prefer the tinted ones as these tend to not leave a whiteness in the roots. It was cheap and cheerful, but did not last as long as I thought considering it is a big can.

Simple Clear Skin Cleansing Wipes - These are my favourite makeup wipes; they remove any makeup or dirt that's on your skin. They helped to prevent spots and did not sting when I used them. Again a nice purse-friendly purchase, will definitely buy another pack!

Dior Capture Totale Eyes Essential - This was a very moisturising eye cream that got rid of my dryness. This was only a tester tube but I would not fork out the money to buy a full size as there are cheaper ones that are highly comparable. Still a very nice and luxurious product.

Clinique All About Eyes - Another eye cream, but this one is less watery and a bit more creamy. This comes in a pot, which I prefer as you can clearly see if there is any product left. I'm not sure if this is full sized or not however it did last ages! This one reduced my dark circles and again was another luxury product.

Maybelline Baby Lips Intense Care - Back to the less expensive products now, this lip balm is incredible and I have already repurchased it, it is so nourishing and repairs cracked or damaged lips. It lasted a very long time and I used this religiously!

Collection Illuminating Touch Concealer - I have mentioned this before but I was surprised when this ran out as I had not had it a long time. Personally I prefer the other concealer by Collection (Lasting Perfection), but it did do a good job for the price. It was more of a illuminating concealer (as said in the name) and wasn't high coverage, which I quite like for under my eyes.

Maybelline Mascaras || Review

I am a huge fan of the Maybelline mascaras and in my opinion I think they are the best in the drugstore, that I know of.  They are definitely of a very high quality and I actually do prefer a few of them to some of my high end mascaras. They retail at around £7-£8, which is an absolute bargain for the quality. They also have different wands or applicators or whatever you want to call them haha, which means there's something in the collection for everyone.

Sorry that this picture is kind of bad it's just you have no idea how hard it was to try and make these mascaras stay still especially without getting black mascara everywhere...and I mean everywhere haha.

The Falsies- This is a really good mascara and at first I didn't really like it too much but a few weeks ago it started to make it's way back into my everyday makeup routine and I love it so much. It has a brush applicator so if you don't like this type of wand this probably isn't the right one for you. It definitely isn't a natural subtle finish which you could probably tell from the name of it, but it doesn't clump, doesn't fall down your face and it's just a very good mascara.

The Mega Plush- This is also a good mascara, it doesn't give much volume but it definitely does lengthen, so this is great mascara to double up with other mascaras. I personally like to use this mascara with the Nars Larger Than Life Volumizing Mascara. This mascara gives a natural finish but not too natural if that makes sense and it also really opens up your eyes a lot, so I'd definitely give this a try.

The Colossal (waterproof version)-  I've had this mascara for a while and it's my only waterproof
mascara that I actually like. It stays put all day and isn't too difficult to get off which is the reason
why I don't like most waterproof mascaras. I wouldn't actually say this is a good waterproof mascara if that's what you want it for because it does run down my face a bit when it's gets wet, but I didn't by it for it's waterproofness so it's good for me haha. Anyway it doesn't clump it looks nice and doesn't dry out too quickly and is just an all round good mascara.

The  Rocket-  I do really love this mascara, it stays put, doesn't clump, and it just looks nice haha.  This has a plastic applicator but I'm not too fussed and it still works good so don't be put of by the wand on it. It's very comparable to the Benefit 'They're Real' mascara, except this one is a lot easier to apply than the Benefit one which is a big plus for me. I will definitely repurchase a new one of these if mine ever runs out haha.

So basically I recommend all these mascaras and I will be sure to buy anymore of the Maybelline mascaras if they bring out anymore because they are just so good!!

Boi-ing by Benefit Review

I've been eyeing up this concealer for months but I've been a bit worried to by it incase I didn't like it, especially since it's quite expensive (around the £17 mark) and you only get 3g of product. But I hadn't bought a highend product in a while so I just thought I might as well because if I hadn't have bought it then I would have ended up buying it another time anyway haha.

I admit I did have extremely high hopes for this concealer and it hasn't let me down at all. It is basically a great all round concealer, it covers redness, brightens, conceals any spots you may have, is long lasting and is really good under the eyes.

I've been reaching for this concealer a lot since I've got it and I have a feeling it will last me a long time so hopefully I'll feel like I got my money's worth once I've used it all up. I really would recommend this but if you don't want to pay £17 for a small pot of concealer (which is understandable) then getting the 'how to look the best at everything' makeup set, which includes two 1.5g of boi-ing along with three other products and a brush, for £25.50 is a good idea so you can try a bit of everything.

Just to let you know I'm not being sponserd by benefit by the way I honestly am just a really big fan of their makeup haha.
